STUDI EKSPLORASI PEMILIHAN JURUSAN KULIAH PADA MAHASISWA LAKI-LAKI PROGRAM BAHASA KOREA UNIVERSITAS NASIONAL

Abstract

ABSTRAK Dukungan orang tua terhadap pemilihan jurusan kuliah anak sangat penting. Anak bisa yakin dengan pilihan yang akan dipilih setelah mendapatkan persetujuan dari orangg tua. Dengan menggunkana pendekatan kualititatif deskriptif dengan metode interview, penelitian ini mencoba menelaah bagaimana pengaruh orang tua terhadappemilihan jurusan kuliah anak khususnya pada anak laki-laki berdasarkan teori College Choice Methods oleh Jackson. Hasil penelitian terhadap 5 orang tua murid, menunjukkan bahwa orang tua hanya memiliki sedikitpengaruh terhadap pilihan jurusan kuliah. Hal ini dikarenakan orang tua memberikan kebebasan penuh terhadap anaknya untuk memilih jurusan yang diinginkan. Sedangkan dari sisi anak, lokasi adalah faktor pertimbangan utama hingga akhirnya memilih berkuliah di tempatnya saat ini. Kata kunci: pengaruh orang tua, jurusan kuliah, mahasiswa laki-laki ABSTRACTParental support for their child's choice of college major is very important. Children can be sure about the choice they will choose after getting approval from their parents. By using a descriptive qualitative approach withinterview methods, this research tries to examine how parents influence their children's choice of college major, especially boys, based on Jackson's College Choice Methods theory. The results of research on 5 students' parents showed that parents had little influence on the choice of college major. This is because parents give their children complete freedom to choose the major they want. Meanwhile, from the child's perspective, location is the main consideration factor until they finally choose to study at their current location. Key words: parental influence, college major, male students
