GAYA BAHASA LIMA LAGU ATEEZ DALAM ALBUM INTO A TO Z

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh ketertarikan terhadap salah satu grup musik asal Korea Selatan, yaitu ATEEZ,
yang menampilkan tema dan konsep cerita lagu yang unik dalam album Into A to Z. Tujuan dari penelitian ini, yang
merujuk pada latar belakang serta rumusan masalah, adalah untuk mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan penggunaan
gaya bahasa dalam lirik lagu-lagu ATEEZ dalam album tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif
kualitatif dengan landasan teori gaya bahasa yang dikemukakan oleh Gorys Keraf (2009). Hasil penelitian ini,
ditemukan tujuh jenis gaya bahasa dalam lirik lagu Say My Name, Utopia, Better, Inception, dan Still Here, yaitu
hiperbola, personifikasi, metafora, simile, repetisi, oksimoron, dan apostrof. Dari kelima lagu tersebut, gaya bahasa
yang paling dominan adalah simile dan hiperbola. Penggunaan kedua gaya bahasa ini menggambarkan kondisi para
anggota ATEEZ yang sedang berimajinasi hingga tidak dapat membedakan antara realitas dan mimpi. Dengan efek
keindahan dari sebuah lirik lagu yang di ciptakan sesuai dengan cerita lagu.

This research is motivated by an interest in a South Korean music group, ATEEZ, which presents unique themes and
narrative concepts in the songs from their album Into A to Z. The aim of this study, based on the background and
research questions, is to describe and explain the use of figurative language in the lyrics of ATEEZ’s songs featured
in the album. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method, using the theory of figurative language proposed
by Gorys Keraf (2009) as its theoretical framework. The findings of this research identify seven types of figurative
language used in the lyrics of the songs Say My Name, Utopia, Better, Inception, and Still Here. These include
hyperbole, personification, metaphor, simile, repetition, oxymoron, and apostrophe. Among these five songs, the most
dominant figurative language styles are simile and hyperbole. The use of these two forms reflects the imaginative state
of ATEEZ members, to the extent that they blur the line between reality and dreams. This use of figurative language
enhances the aesthetic quality of the lyrics, aligning with the stories conveyed in each song.
