Ahmad Fauzan Baihaqi Fauzan, Bryna Rizkinta, Ilham Nur Utomo, Desi Susanti, Muhammad Zulham Copyright (c) 2025 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.unas.ac.id/himmah/article/view/4110 Tue, 05 Aug 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Kontekstualisasi Nilai-Nilai Islam: Perspektif Wasathiyah Dalam Pemikiran Masykuri Abdillah https://journal.unas.ac.id/himmah/article/view/4201
This article examines Masykuri Abdillah's thoughts on the contextualization of Islamic values through the wasathiyah (moderation) approach in responding to the challenges of modernity in Indonesia. Masykuri Abdillah, a prominent Muslim scholar with a background in traditional Islamic boarding schools and Western academics, offers an innovative synthesis between various paradigms of Islamic thought to create a more holistic and comprehensive understanding. This study shows how Masykuri integrates Islamic traditions with modern concepts such as democracy, pluralism, and human rights through a moderation approach that bridges the gap between conservative and liberal views. Through the contextualization of Islamic law, Masykuri emphasized that Islam can adapt to the life of the state without sacrificing its core values. The main focus of his thinking includes an emphasis on sustainable ijtihad, interfaith dialogue, and the relevance of Islamic teachings in the context of multicultural Indonesia. This article contributes to the discussion of the relationship between Islam and the state, and offers practical guidance for Muslims in integrating religious teachings into modern life while maintaining an Islamic identity.

Keywords: Wasathiyah, Contextualization, Moderate Islam, Ijtihad, Pluralism

This study discusses how the United Arab Emirates (UAE) integrates Islamic values in modern socio-political development through a socio-political approach to religion. Focusing on the UAE's national development vision 2021, this paper analyzes how values such as maslahah (public interest), maqashid al-shariah (sharia goals), and hikmah (wisdom) are systematically used by the state in the process of modernization and institutional reform. This study shows that Islam in the UAE is not only used as an ethical foundation, but also as a source of symbolic legitimacy and a tool of social engineering that supports stability, national integration, and the consolidation of state power. Using the framework of the sociology of religion, this paper unravels how Islamic symbols and values are used in state discourse, public policy, and institutional building such as the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments and the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence. In addition, the study also explores the role of Islam in the UAE's soft power through interfaith diplomacy and sharia economic development, which reinforces the UAE's position as a modern Muslim country that is adaptive to globalization without relinquishing its roots of religious values. The results of this study show that the UAE's vision for 2021 is not only a technocratic development project, but also a cultural and religious project that makes Islam a unifying force and a guide to social change. Thus, this paper contributes to understanding the dynamics of the relationship between religion and state-building in the contemporary Muslim world.

Keywords: UAE, sociology of religion, modern Islamic development, Vision 2021, Muslim countries
Fakih Fadilah Muttaqin, Aris Munandar Copyright (c) 2025 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.unas.ac.id/himmah/article/view/4251 Tue, 05 Aug 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Khataman Metode Rukū’ Dalam Meningkatkan Semangat Membaca Al-Qur’an (Studi Living Qur’an di Masjid As-Shodiqin) https://journal.unas.ac.id/himmah/article/view/4206
This study originates from a phenomenon at As-Shodiqin Mosque, Plosorejo, Ponorogo, where congregants faced limitations in regularly reading the Qur’an before the implementation of the rukū’ method. Previously, Qur’anic reading was conducted only once a week through the recitation of Surah Yasin without a structured system. This research aims to analyze how the rukū’ method can foster a more sustainable culture of Qur’anic reading.Using a phenomenological approach, data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the rukū’ method helps congregants who had never previously completed a full recitation of the Qur’an. The short, consistent reading segments boost enthusiasm and engagement among participants. Additionally, the implementation of this method strengthens Islamic brotherhood (ukhuwah Islamiyah) through more active interactions and shared religious experiences. Thus, the rukū’ method has proven to be an effective strategy in cultivating a more inclusive and sustainable Qur’anic reading culture at As-Shodiqin Mosque.
Rahmalia Fellashofa Regita, Fadhilah Rahmawati Copyright (c) 2025 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.unas.ac.id/himmah/article/view/4206 Tue, 05 Aug 2025 00:00:00 +0700 One China Policy and Its Implications for The Resolution of The Taiwan Strait Conflict in 2024 https://journal.unas.ac.id/himmah/article/view/4252
This study discusses the impact of the One China Policy on efforts to resolve the conflict in the Taiwan Strait in 2024. The main issue is the increasing tension between China and Taiwan, and how this policy affects the process of resolving the conflict. The purpose of this study is to analyze the role of the One China Policy in hindering or creating space for diplomacy. This study uses a qualitative approach by combining realism and constructivism theories. The results show that this policy strengthens China's position and limits the options for peaceful negotiations, but also encourages the involvement of international actors carefully. The main contribution of this study is to provide a critical understanding of the influence of foreign policy on regional conflicts, as well as enriching the study of international relations in East Asia.

Keywords: One China Policy, Taiwan Strait, conflict, diplomacy, international relations.
Hendra Maujana Saragih, Jaisy Khailisah Salsabila Copyright (c) 2025 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.unas.ac.id/himmah/article/view/4252 Tue, 05 Aug 2025 00:00:00 +0700
