The use of foreign languages is very diverse, ranging from the use of technological terms such as download, print, copy and paste, to the combination of basic Indonesian words with English affixes such as pelukable and unfaedah. The merging of the two languages is known as code switching and code mixing. This study is aimed at analyzing the types of code switching uttered by a tour guide at the Fatahillah museum in Jakarta. Analysis of the type of code switching is done by using Hoffman's theory. The results showed that there were three types of code switching; tag swiching, inter-sentential swictching and intra-sentential switching. There were also eighteen code switching utterances in the conversation between the tour guide and the museum visitors. And of the eighteen utterances, the most common type of code switching is tag code switching.

Keywords: code switching, types of code switching
2023-12-18T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Ria Yuliasari, Rika Virtianti, Ferdias Prihatna Sari https://journal.unas.ac.id/pujangga/article/view/2791 ANALISIS SISTEM FONOLOGI BAHASA TOLAKI DIALEK KONAWE RAGAM BIASA 2024-02-15T11:37:58+07:00 Hilma Erfiani Baroroh hilma.baroroh@gmail.com
This study aims to analyze the phonological system of Tolaki language in Konawi dialect of ordinary variety. The research technique was conducted by collecting data through informant interviews from Konawi, Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi. The initial data for the interview material were 200 basic Swadesh vocabularies, which later in the interview process developed into 238 vocabularies. The data was collected using note-taking and recording techniques. The results showed that the Tolaki language in the Konawe dialect has 28 letter sounds consisting of 12 vowel phonemes and 16 consonant phonemes. However, the letters are not phonemic. After going through the minimal pairing process, 9 vowel phonemes were found, namely /a/, /i/, /u/, /e/, /o/, /O/, /a:/, /i: /, and /u:/, and 15 consonant phonemes, namely /b/, /d/, /g/, /h/, /k/, /l/, /m/, /n/, /p/, /r/, /s/, /t/, /w/, /N/, and /Ɂ/. In terms of phonemes, the language lacks allophones and diphthongs (vowel clusters). In addition, the Konawe dialect of Tolaki has relatively more vowel phoneme sequences than consonant phoneme sequences. The syllable patterns formed are V, KV, KVK, KKV, and VK.

Keywords: The phonological system, the Tolaki language, the Konawi dialect.
2023-12-18T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Hilma Erfiani Baroroh https://journal.unas.ac.id/pujangga/article/view/2829 SEMIOTIKA PIERCE DALAM MITOS KHASIAT AIR PANCURAN TUJUH SASTRA LISAN KABUPATEN BANYUMAS, JAWA TENGAH 2023-12-18T06:42:29+07:00 Annisa Wulandari annisa.21068@mhs.unesa.ac.id
2023-12-18T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Nisrina Rona Nabilah https://journal.unas.ac.id/pujangga/article/view/2856 Functional Systemic Linguistic Approach in Translation Studies of Taxis Markers in "WoY" 2023-12-18T06:25:25+07:00 Ayu Bandu Retnomurti ayubandu@gmail.com zuriyati zuriyati zuriyati_sastra@yahoo.com Miftahulkhairah Anwar miftahulkhairah@unj.ac.id Waiting on You (WoY) is the work of Kristan Higgins, a New York Times bestselling author whose novel was also translated into Indonesian by Nina Andiana. Higgins consistently uses complex clauses in writing novels. As a result, long complex clauses are difficult to translate. This research refers to the Functional Systemic Linguistics approach which aims to: explain the interdependence and semantic logic of complex clauses in source language text are translated into interdependence and semantic logic of complex clauses in recipient language text in novel WoY; Taxis marker translation technique used in translating from source language text to recipient language; the shifts found in the translated novel Penantian Terpanjang; the quality of translation of complex clauses in target language. This method is descriptive qualitative with taxis as an object in the novel WoY, sourced from source language texts and recipient language texts from the novel entitled Penantian Terpanjang, and obtained from informants who are linguistic and translation experts. The technique is purposive sampling. Techniques of collecting data are document analysis and focus group discussions. The data validity is triangulation. The results are after breaking down sentences into clauses and analyzing them, researchers find that the most dominant form (interdependence) is paratactic, and the meaning (semantic logic) that is most widely used is the extension. Meanwhile, the most widely used technique is common. The types of shifts found are form (interdependence) and meaning (semantic logic). This shift has a positive effect on readability so that it can improve the quality of the novel translation. 2023-12-18T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2023 Ayu Bandu Retnomurti
