The film presents a complex interplay between environmentalism and industrialization through the characters of San (Princess Mononoke), a warrior raised by wolves who fights to protect nature, and Lady Eboshi, the leader of Iron Town who seeks to expand human civilization through industrial progress. Between the two female leaders there is a male character: Ashitaka. The plot makes him as a bridge for the conflict of two female leaders. This research uses qualitative method which focusing on dialogs between characters. By employing ecofeminist theory (Shiva, 1988; Warren, 1997) and gender studies (Butler, 1990), this study examines how the film challenges traditional gender roles while addressing the ethical and ecological dilemmas of modernization. Princess Mononoke challenges traditional gender stereotypes by positioning women as influential decision-makers who shape the course of social and environmental conflicts.

Keywords: ecofeminism, gender studies, female leader, nature, industry.
Nadiah Surya Nahari Copyright (c) 2026 Nadiah Surya Nahari http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.unas.ac.id/pujangga/article/view/4378 Tue, 30 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0700 AN ANALYSIS OF ENGLISH-SPEAKING MATERIAL IN THE TEXTBOOK ENGLISH FOR NUSANTARA BASED ON THE REVISED BLOOM'S TAXONOMY https://journal.unas.ac.id/pujangga/article/view/4371
This study aims to determine the cognitive dimensions of speaking material in the English for Nusantara textbook for seventh-grade junior high school students based on the Revised Bloom's Taxonomy. The focus of this study is to identify the cognitive dimension levels (C1-C6) in speaking material and to classify whether the material is categorized as LOTS (Lower Order Thinking Skills) or HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills). This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis methods. The results show that most speaking material falls at the cognitive level of the Revised Bloom's Taxonomy C3 "Applying" at 57.1%, followed by level C6 "Creating" at 28.6%, and the remaining 14.3% at level C2 "Understanding." This indicates a shift from understanding to independent application and production of language. This indicates that Chapter 1 has supported the development of communicative and functional speaking skills and begun to introduce students to higher-order thinking skills (HOTS), particularly in personal and social contexts.

Keywords: Speaking Material, Cognitive Dimension, Revised Bloom's Taxonomy, Textbook

Hernalia citra Dewi, Dwinesa Anggareni Copyright (c) 2026 Hernalia citra Dewi, Dwinesa Anggareni http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.unas.ac.id/pujangga/article/view/4371 Fri, 17 Jul 2026 00:00:00 +0700 ANALISIS KESALAHAN PENGGUNAAN EJAAN BUKU CERITA DONGENG “SERI FABEL INSPIRATIF” https://journal.unas.ac.id/pujangga/article/view/4403
The kaiju phenomenon, originally a representation of collective trauma, has evolved into a symbol of individual inner conflict, with Kafka embodying the struggle between social identity and the unconscious. Using a qualitative descriptive method grounded in the concepts of persona, shadow, anima-animus, self, and individuation, the study finds that all four archetypes manifest progressively throughout the narrative. Kafka's persona shifts from the mask of "someone who has given up" to a deeper denial of his kaiju side. The shadow embodied in Kaiju No. 8 is both personal and collective, carrying centuries of human hatred and helplessness toward kaiju. The anima projected onto Ashiro Mina acts as a guide that stabilizes Kafka's psyche at his most critical moments. Through the stages of individuation ego inflation, alienation, confrontation with the shadow, integration, and the attainment of self Kafka ultimately integrates every aspect of his personality into a unified identity. His journey thus becomes a universal symbol of how true identity is formed through the courage to embrace all aspects of the self, even the darkest.
Emma Rahmawati Fatimah, Jihaan Istiqamaah, Ni Made Savitri Paramita Copyright (c) 2026 Emma Rahmawati Fatimah, Jihaan Istiqamaah, Ni Made Savitri Paramita http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.unas.ac.id/pujangga/article/view/4402 Tue, 30 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0700 NATURE, NATIONALISM, FAITH: MAGELANG CULTURAL IDENTITY THROUGH STUDENTS’ LOCAL FOLKTALE-BASED CREATIVE WRITING https://journal.unas.ac.id/pujangga/article/view/4395
The latest Creative Writing learning paradigm highlights the importance of the integration of sociocultural dimensions in the Creative Writing learning process. The integration of sociocultural dimensions can be conducted through the use of local folktales as the base in students’ Creative Writing works. Although previous studies have examined the use of local folktales in Creative Writing, limited attention has been given to how cultural identities are represented through students’ Creative Writing based on local folktales. This study aims to investigate the cultural identity of Magelang as represented in students’ Creative Writing works adapted from Magelang local folktales. This study employed a qualitative research design with qualitative content analysis to investigate the representation of Magelang cultural identity in students’ local folktale-based Creative Writing short stories. Through the analysis of 18 students’ Creative Writing works, the findings of this study reveal three dominant narrative patterns that represent Magelang’s cultural identity, including: narratives of nature, narratives of nationalism, and narratives of faith. Narratives of nature highlight that nature is seen as a sacred site: a source of life in Magelang society’s worldview. Narratives of nationalism show that Magelang is rich with historical values and nationalism as its cultural and societal identity. Narratives of faith show that faith and religion are one of the core values in building Magelang cultural identity. It can be concluded that the students’ Creative Writing serves not only as a literary expression, but also as a medium of preserving and reaffirming Magelang cultural identity.
Puri Bakhtawar, Muhammad Nur Hanif, Desy Fitrianingsih, Catur Wulan Sari Copyright (c) 2026 Puri Bakhtawar, Muhammad Nur Hanif, Desy Fitrianingsih, Catur Wulan Sari http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.unas.ac.id/pujangga/article/view/4395 Fri, 17 Jul 2026 00:00:00 +0700 The Real, the Imaginary, and Childhood Anxiety in Neil Gaiman's Coraline A Lacanian Psychoanalytic Analysis https://journal.unas.ac.id/pujangga/article/view/4394
This study examines the representation of childhood anxiety in Neil Gaiman's Coraline through the lens of Jacques Lacan's psychoanalytic theory. Drawing upon Lacan's triadic model of the Imaginary, the Symbolic, and the Real, the research explores how Coraline's journey through the alternate world reflects a process of psychological maturation and subject formation. Employing qualitative textual analysis, the study investigates the relationship between fantasy, desire, anxiety, and identity construction in the novel. The findings reveal that the alternate world functions as the Imaginary Order, offering an illusion of completeness and fulfillment that initially satisfies Coraline's desires. The Other Mother embodies the fantasy of perfect maternal care while simultaneously concealing a predatory desire for possession and control. As Coraline uncovers the hidden truths of the alternate world, she encounters manifestations of the Real that disrupt the coherence of fantasy and generate anxiety. These encounters force Coraline to confront the limitations of desire and the impossibility of complete satisfaction. Ultimately, the novel portrays anxiety not as a destructive force but as a necessary condition for psychological growth. Through her confrontation with the Real, Coraline develops a more mature understanding of herself and her relationship to reality. This study contributes to children's literature scholarship by demonstrating how Lacanian psychoanalysis provides valuable insights into the psychological dimensions of fantasy narratives and the role of anxiety in childhood development.
Fiona Rosalia, Bunga Astya Syafitri Copyright (c) 2026 Fiona Rosalia, Bunga Astya Syafitri; Kasno Atmo Sukarto, M.Pd http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.unas.ac.id/pujangga/article/view/4413 Tue, 30 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0700
