A TRACK RECORD OF HARMONIOUS DIALOGUE IN THE DYNAMICS OF NARRATIVE NEGOTIATION IN THE DECOLONIZATION ERA TO OPEN THE VOICES OF LIBERATION IN SOUTHEAST ASIA Alfathon

Abstract

This research aims to explore the track record of harmonious dialogue as a key
element in the dynamics of narrative negotiations during the decolonization era in
Southeast Asia. With an interdisciplinary approach from the disciplines of history and
communication sciences, this research analyzes how harmony in dialogue became a
catalyst to open voices of liberation in a regional context affected by the decolonization
process. Through a comparative approach, the author explores the important role of
harmony in dialogue in responding to political and social change and illustrates how
dialogue created platforms and open discussion spaces to realize liberation aspirations.
The analysis is expected to provide insights into the role of harmonious communication
in shaping decolonization narratives in Southeast Asia, evoking further understanding of
the dynamic interaction between history and communication in complex regional
contexts.
This research involves a comparative perspective method with a qualitative
approach based on literature review, observation and in-depth interviews with experts to
explore variations in dialogue harmony in historical and communication contexts in
several Southeast Asian regions. The research theory focuses on the concept of harmony
in communication as a key instrument in responding to political and social change during
the decolonization period.
The assumption of this research is that dialogue harmony not only creates mutual
understanding, but also plays a role in shaping collective narratives that drive liberation
aspirations. As such, this research seeks to provide deep insights into how dialogue
harmony contributed to the decolonization process and opened up space for marginalized
voices in Southeast Asia.
