About the Journal
Focus and Scope
The IJSPA is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal freely available online. The aim and scope of the IJSPA are to publish articles that contribute significantly to the body of knowledge. It publishes both theoretical and empirical articles and case studies relating to social science and public administration. Both of them explore the latest developments in public administration, social policy, public policy, and management translating theory for practice and practice into theory. Published articles use scientific research methods including statistical analysis, case studies, field research, and historical analysis.
IJSPA is a truly global journal in scope, covering developed, emerging, and transitional states, nonprofit and nongovernmental organizations, and all areas of public activity. We welcome theoretical, analytical, quantitative, qualitative, empirical, and practitioner-based, as well as individual country-based, region-based, and especially comparative works.
Our target audience is not just scholars, but also policy-makers and practitioners may target scientists, researchers, professors, students, and policymakers from sociology, political science, history, the law in society, and related domains including aspiring public sector leaders engaged in education and research in the growing global public service, policy, and administration, and governance community.
We want to draw on the latest research – whether carried out by scholars or practitioners or indeed collaborations. We aim for – and encourage – the reporting of this research to be as clear and accessible to the widest possible audience while maintaining the necessary rigor and scholarly standards.
IJSPA will include not just cutting-edge research, but also: feature interviews or opinion pieces from leading scholars and policy-makers; a resources section for scholars and practitioners; symposia and debates; and themed issues of topics of special interest. Proposals in all these areas are always welcome.
Peer Review Process
The practice of peer review is to ensure that only good science is published. It is an objective process at the heart of good scholarly publishing and is carried out by all reputable scientific journals. Our referees play a vital role in maintaining the standards IJSPA and all manuscripts are peer-reviewed following the procedure outlined below.
Initial manuscript evaluation The Editor first evaluates all manuscripts. It is rare, but it is possible for an exceptional manuscript to be accepted at this stage. Manuscripts rejected at this stage are insufficiently original, have serious scientific flaws, have poor grammar or English language, or are outside the aims and scope of the journal. Those that meet the minimum criteria are normally passed on to at least 2 experts for review. Type of Peer Review IJSPA employs double-blind reviewing, where both the referee and author remain anonymous throughout the process.
